SEO - Search Engine Optimization
Search engine optimization (SEO) allows your web page or website to be visible in top search engines like Google Yahoo Bing or Yext unpaid results - often know as "natural", "organic", or "earned" results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users; these visitors can then be converted into customers.
SEO may often target different types of search results, this includes image search, local search, audio and video search, academic search, news and sports search, and industry-specific vertical search engines. As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines perform, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords keyed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing your website may involve a lot of time editing its content, HTML, and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of major search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO method.
